Update on ECT treatment, video

They are lowering the frequency of his ECT treatment. Normaly ECT is stopped when the patient is in remission or no further improvement is seen during two weeks after at least 10 bilateral treatments.

When someone relapses after ECT, a new course is started and the frequency lowered as soon as the patient is better again. This last procedure is also called maintenance ECT treatment.
