Here is Destino, the collaboration between Walt Disney and Salvador Dalí. Production began in 1945 and the film didn’t premier until 2003. Apparently, it will finally see an official home DVD release in 2010 along with a documentary about the two artists’ history together.
Needless to say that besides Kandinsky I’m also a fan of Salvador Dali. Stunning graphics in this short video.

But Dali is brilliant! Quite a scientifically challenging man to, with serious interest in atomic structures (for instance galatea of the spheres, of which a cheap copy hangs in my corridor, I cannot help but to be mesmerized every time I walk by it) and a fascinating view on ‘ze DesOxyRrriboNucleic azid’ as a structural basis of beauty. Even his later signature is scientific, depicting a drop of milk falling in milk and forming a crown, spelling of course the name of the selfacclaimed genius he was. Truly one of the most fascinating figures I know.

That’s really cool. Funny, I’d never heard of this film until yesterday, when they showed it on the cruise I’m on. I guess I’m one of the last to encounter it.
