Threats to Daydreaming and it’s Benefits

We’ve discussed daydreaming and it’s advantages before on this blog. In this short video Jonah Lehrer discusses whether access to the Internet negatively affects one’s ability to let their mind wander and miss on the advantages of daydreaming.

I guess I can’t compare the amount of my pre-Internet daydreaming to the amount of my current Internet daydreaming, but I certainly wouldn’t consider myself to be deficient in the daydreaming department. Sometimes when I’m done daydreaming I Google content related to my daydreaming. That’s actually quite fun because it leads me to unknown territory. Maybe that’s kind of weird. I don’t know.
