eLegs: Exoskeleton Allows Paralyzed People to Walk Again
An amazing invention based on a military research specifically for people who are wheelchair-bound. Still expensive and they’ll only be available for use in clinics at first–but it’s an exciting step forward.
The person straps into an exoskeleton made of carbon fiber and steel, which weighs 45 pounds. Sensors in the legs convey their position to a control unit contained in a backpack, and the controller tells which joints to bend to create a natural gait. Virtual Deep Brain Surgery
This is an excellent cartoon film showing the procedure of implanting deep brain stimulation for Parkinson's disease. It teached me a lot about the operation. It's an interactive application made by the Ohio State University. It's amazing, want to be a neurosurgeon now.

Med Schools lack of policies for facebook and twitter use
Social media are changing medicine. On social networking sites patients may learn information about their doctors, medical students that compromises the professional relationship. Threats to patient confidentiality is another danger of Facebook and other social networking sites. But how big is the problem and if med schools are on social media sites do they have a policy for their med students and staff for using these sites such as Facebook and twitter?

Connectome: all connections between each neuron, our real selves?
Genes don't explain the complicated human beings we are, brain imaging doesn't explain the complicated human beings we are, does the connectome explain us. Is the connectome the real soul of our selves, the id or what evr you want to call the unique human being each of us really is.
Sebastian Seung is mapping a massively ambitious new model of the brain that focuses on the connections between each neuron. He calls it our "connectome," and it's as individual as our genome -- and understanding it could open a new way to understand our brains and our minds.
