Dutch Liberal Policy Towards Cannabis Use Pays Of
In The Netherlands you can buy cbd oil for personal use. From research on this topic this results in less cannabis use and even hard drug use. In this video this drug policy is debated and also a more practical standpoint is advocated on the war against drugs.
This video is made on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 during the United Nations’ Commission of Narcotic Drugs in Vienna, Austria, just10 years after Kofi Annan’s pledge to have a “drug free world” by 2008. Representatives from around the world attended the conference voicing support and opposition to the centuries old “war on drugs.” It impacted pot stocks and gave a huge returns for investors too.
Now Cannabis is less treat it as a drug but as a medical drug, more in the USA, now marijuana is legalized in many states, and used in medical scenarios such as epilepsy, Lennox Gastaut, Glaucoma, Dravet Syndrome, anxiety, depression, nauseas, to help sleep,and cancers now the chemicals are product for treating diseases or conditions and not to get high, as it uses chemicals called cannabinoids. Mental health is really important, and now this helps many conditions.

Most of the experts interviewed agree that an ideal world would be a drug-free world but perhaps we should put that on the shelf among other concepts like a world without war, disease
What do you think, is Dr Shock biased on this off-topic?
Thanks BoingBoing

Why should we think DrShock is biased?
But, I do think an effort to increase homegrown (outdoors) cannabis as to replace the indoor grown weed sold in coffeeshops would be a wise step. It costs (way) less, is (way) less potent and will perhaps reduce illegal growing, which poses some serious problems like illegal electricity use, wearing down of houses and criminal activity.

mmmh, interesting that you should bring that up. Aren’t you from the Netherlands? Cause just one or two days ago I read that many dutch people actually oppose the availability of cannabis, specifically because they find “drug tourists” from neighbouring countries pose a big problem. It also said that some towns actually want to close down all coffee shops on their own, w/o a law or so from the government. What’s your take on this?
I think what comes at least a little bit into play here is that even in countries that worldwide are perceived as very liberal, a notion only strengthened by liberal laws such as allowing cannabis, the opinions/minds of certain parts of the population don’t match up at all with the countries laws and its image to the world. For example, for everyone who knows some dutch, just browse some popular dutch sites and read the comments. Granted, you might not get everybody to say everything they say on the internet in real life, but in that way the internet is a little bit like alcohol I think … makes people say things that have at least some truth in it that they otherwise would never say.
A non-cannabis related example: I had a dutch teen tell me that he and his parents moved to the US simply because of dutch immigration laws, and the feeling that those lead to immigrants taking away their jobs. (obviously originally laced with explicit racist terms)

@flo
They close down the coffeeshops near the borders since a lot of drug tourists from belgium france and germany are causing a lot of trouble
Kind regards Dr shock

Also take into account that: 25% of the 729 coffeeshops (in 2008), are in the four biggest cities of the Netherlands, which will attract a lot of tourist looking for ‘fun’. (as was the case that got ‘mushrooms’ kicked out of condoned selling) Concerning medical care following cannabis use: that number has risen, but the growth concerns mainly the ‘incidental’ users, as far as I know (looked it up on the Trimbos institute website) From my own experiences I know that for instance people eating spacecake are at some risk from having troubling side-effects. (and I believe most people that needed medical care ate/drank those kind of THC containing product, although I cannot back it up with research) Also people not well-informed about using recreational drugs are at a far greater risk for developing nasty side-effects and reffering to medical care if you’d ask me.
Concerning the people that moved to the US: I think it is a rather malinformed reason they gave; immigration law has become much tighter in the past years and emigration (of ‘foreigners’) has grown. But in Dutch politics and society anti-foreigner(/Islamic) sentiments have risen substantially, and are (in my opinion) very often based on bad reasoning or ungrounded fear. But that’s off-topic ofcourse.
