Pens and Presentations
Besides gadgets Dr Shock is also addicted to pens. I love pens and still use a Montblanc fountain pen. Since recent digital pens exists. The newest digital pen Oxford Papershow is a digital pen which you can use with powerpoint.
You can make annotations directly onto a live Powerpoint presentation using special digital paper, or create an electronic flipchart projected into your screen or wall. Presentations and meetings instantly become more interactive and interesting as the audience can contribute and their comments can be added there and then.
The kit consists of a digital pen, USB key, interactive paper and a file and case.
The PAPERSHOW pen is a concentration of High Technology. Equipped with a infra-red micro camera, a micro-processor and a Bluetooth transcoder, it instantly captures your notes to transmit them to the PAPERSHOW software. And yet, it is as easy to use as a ball-point pen: all you have to do is take off the cap and write on the sheet. The PAPERSHOW pen is supplied with coloured rings to match it to the colour of the USB key.
In 4 video’s the magic of the papershow pen is presented. In short, during a presentation you can write, color, draw on the slides. You can save these slides and/or e-mail them directly from within the program. A kind of new overhead projector and sheets.
Other digital pens
There is a pen that can record what you are writing as well as record and sync audio with whatever you write, so you never miss a word. With Paper Replay, users can tap on their notes written on paper to hear exactly what was said. They can also fast forward, rewind, jump ahead, pause, and even speed up or slow down their audio recordings using controls printed on the bottom of each page. This is the Pulse Smartpen from Livescribe. The Livescribe Pulse Smartpen is now also available for Mac
There is also the Mobile Notetaker you can take this pen everywhere without a computer. The device stores everything you write in its internal memory. When you are back at home/your office – simply upload it to your computer. Here is a video demonstration
The D:Scribe is a pen that digitizes your writing to send as a text message. You write whatever you want, circle the name of the recipient, and the pen sends the data to your cell phone via Bluetooth, which in turn fires off the text or email message.
There is a new gadget pen that is a Mini Torch, Laser Pointer, Bank Note Checker, Stylus and a Ball Pen!
